West Belfast Burglaries: MLA Urges Vigilance After Armed Suspect Leaves Child Shaken

Residents in west Belfast are being urged to increase their vigilance following a spate of aggravated burglaries, including a terrifying break-in where an armed suspect forced entry into a residential flat, leaving a young child shaken and traumatized.

The call for heightened awareness was issued by a local Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) following two separate burglaries in the area. In one of the incidents, an armed individual entered a home, causing significant distress to the family inside. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported, but the psychological impact on the child has drawn widespread concern.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is investigating both burglaries and has appealed to the public for any information or dashcam footage from the area. The local MLA emphasized the need for community cohesion and vigilance, advising residents to look out for neighbors and report any suspicious activity immediately to help prevent further incidents.
