Terrified South Belfast Residents Flee Home as Knife-Wielding Burglar Steals TV
BELFAST — A manhunt is underway in South Belfast after residents were forced to flee their own home in terror when a burglar brandishing a knife broke in and stole a television.
The incident occurred during the evening in a quiet residential area, where the occupant confronted an intruder inside the property. The suspect, who was carrying a knife, threatened the resident before seizing a television set. Terrified for their safety, the occupants managed to escape the house and raise the alarm from a neighbor’s home.
Investigation and PSNI Appeal
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) responded immediately, deploying dog units and local patrols to search the area, but the suspect had already fled. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage and conducting door-to-door inquiries to identify the perpetrator.
A PSNI spokesperson condemned the crime, stating: “This was a deeply traumatic experience for the victims, who should feel safe inside their own home. We are appealing to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity or has dashcam footage from the South Belfast area around the time of the incident to contact us immediately.”
