Ram Raiders Target Shard End Budget Food Store to Steal Empty Tills and Charity Box

A community in Birmingham has been left disheartened after ram raiders targeted a local budget supermarket, causing extensive structural damage for minimal financial gain.

The incident occurred on Heartland Avenue in Shard End, where offenders used a vehicle to ram through the storefront of the Heron Foods branch. The impact caused significant destruction to the shop's entrance. Despite the violence of the entry, the thieves made off with only two empty till cases and a charity box containing a small amount of donations.

Local residents and business owners have described the incident as a "sad state of affairs," highlighting the desperation and recklessness of criminals willing to cause thousands of pounds in property damage for empty cash registers.
