Police Appeal: CCTV Released of Smartly-Dressed Suspect in Hagley Road Music Store Theft

BIRMINGHAM, West Midlands — Detectives from the West Midlands Police have launched a public appeal, releasing CCTV images of a smartly-dressed suspect wanted in connection with a high-value theft from a music store in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham.

The incident took place at approximately 12:30 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the popular guitarguitar retailer located on Hagley Road. According to investigators, the suspect entered the store and managed to bypass security measures, making off with a premium music amplifier valued at nearly £1,500.

Witnesses and security footage described the suspect as a white male with a clean-shaven appearance and wavy brown hair parted down the middle. Unusually for retail theft suspects, he was described as exceptionally well-dressed, wearing a white formal shirt paired with a purple or blue tie, a navy blue body warmer, a matching navy blue raincoat, and smart navy trousers.

Police are urging anyone who recognizes the individual in the CCTV footage, or who may have been in the vicinity of Hagley Road on the afternoon of January 29, to come forward.
