Police responding to Bradford burglary discover large cannabis farm
A suspected burglary at a home in Bradford took an unexpected turn when responding police officers uncovered a large cannabis cultivation setup inside the property.
West Yorkshire Police were dispatched to the residential address following reports from neighbors or passersby of an ongoing break-in. Upon arrival, officers secured the property to search for the burglars. Instead, they discovered that the house was being used as a sophisticated cannabis farm, with numerous plants and cultivation equipment occupying the rooms.
Unexpected Discovery
While investigating the break-in, officers found no suspects remaining on the premises, but instead found rooms filled with cannabis plants at various stages of growth, along with specialized lighting, ventilation, and electrical bypass systems. The entire crop and growing apparatus were seized by officers.
Police have launched a double inquiry: one into the burglary report and another into the illegal cannabis cultivation. Investigations are ongoing to determine who was renting or occupying the property. Local residents have been urged to contact the police if they noticed any suspicious activity or unusual callers at the address in recent weeks.
