Convenience Store Worker Injured in Armed Robbery Attempt in Moulsecoomb
Detectives in Brighton are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured during an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Moulsecoomb. The frightening incident took place at the Premier Morris store on Widdicombe Way shortly after 7:00 am on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
An unidentified man, brandishing a weapon, entered the store and demanded cash from the staff. However, the robbery attempt was thwarted, and the suspect fled the shop empty-handed, running downhill along Widdicombe Way. During the confrontation, a female employee in her 60s sustained minor physical injuries. The suspect is described as being approximately 5ft 7in tall, wearing a black balaclava, a light grey jumper, black trousers, black trainers, and a distinctive tan jacket with a red logo on the back right shoulder. Sussex Police have released images of the suspect and are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to contact them quoting reference 209 of 02/04.
