Bristol Zoo Former Site Break-Ins Leave Gorillas Distressed Amid Misleading Social Media Claims

Recent security breaches at the site of the former Bristol Zoo have raised major concerns over the welfare of the gorillas housed there, while officials have moved to debunk viral internet rumors claiming the animals were abandoned.

Intruders managed to break into the old zoo gardens on multiple occasions, causing significant disturbance. The zoo's remaining gorilla troop was reportedly left in a state of distress following the security breaches. Keepers and veterinary staff have been closely monitoring the animals to ensure their well-being and stability.

In the wake of these incidents, videos and posts went viral on social media platforms, with many users falsely claiming that the gorillas had been "abandoned" at the closed site. However, Bristol Zoological Society representatives clarified that the truth had been heavily twisted online. The site is actively maintained, and a dedicated team of keepers, vets, and security staff remains on-site 24/7 to care for the animals during the transition to their new home at the Bristol Zoo Project in South Gloucestershire.

Security has been tightened significantly at the Clifton site to prevent further unauthorized entry. Police are investigating the break-ins and are asking members of the public to stay away from the private property for the safety of both themselves and the animals.
