Two Men Named and Charged Following Coventry Car Key Burglary

Two men have been officially named and charged by West Midlands Police following a car key burglary in Coventry. The incident, which has sparked concern among local residents, involved the theft of car keys from a residential property, allowing the suspects to subsequently steal and flee in the victim's vehicle.

Authorities have identified the suspects as part of an ongoing crackdown on vehicle-related thefts in the Coventry area. Car key burglaries, commonly referred to by law enforcement as "Hanoi burglaries," have seen a rise in recent years, prompting police to issue renewed safety guidance. Homeowners are advised to keep car keys well out of sight, away from doors and windows, and stored inside signal-blocking Faraday pouches to deter high-tech criminals.

The two accused individuals have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before local magistrates. Police have thanked members of the public who provided initial information and continue to urge anyone with security camera footage of the incident to come forward to support the prosecution.
