Footage of hooded gang released after car key burglaries in Coventry, Nuneaton and Kenilworth

A coordinated investigation is underway after a series of linked car key burglaries struck residential neighborhoods across Coventry, Nuneaton, and Kenilworth. Police have released security camera footage showing a group of hooded individuals operating under the cover of darkness to target premium vehicles parked on private driveways.

According to investigators, the gang specifically seeks out modern vehicles by targeting residential properties to steal the keys from inside. In several reported cases, the suspects forced entry through lock-snapping techniques on rear uPVC doors or by fishing keys through letterboxes using specialized tools. Once inside, they located the car keys and fled in the victims' high-end vehicles before the residents realized what had happened.

Local policing teams are increasing overnight patrols in the affected areas and have issued an urgent warning to car owners. Detectives are asking anyone who recognizes the clothing, mannerisms, or vehicle footprints of the gang seen in the footage to come forward immediately.

In response to the crime wave, officers recommend that residents store their car keys in signal-blocking Faraday pouches, keep them out of sight from windows and doors, and consider installing physical security devices such as steering wheel locks or driveway bollards to prevent vehicles from being easily driven away.
