Two Arrested in Derby Following Police Raid on Local Pawnbroker Shop

Two individuals have been taken into police custody following a swift response to a raid at a pawnbroker establishment in Derby city centre. The incident, which unfolded during busy trading hours, saw a significant police presence descend on the area after staff raised the alarm.

According to eye-witness accounts, police units, including armed response officers and dog handlers, quickly cordoned off the street outside the shop. Two suspects attempted to escape the scene on foot but were rapidly detained and arrested by responding officers. Several items of high-value stock, including gold jewellery and electronic devices, were recovered at the scene.

Detectives have confirmed that both suspects are currently being held at a local police station on suspicion of robbery and commercial burglary, where they are undergoing questioning. No injuries to staff members or the general public were reported during the incident.
