CCTV Captures Bold Theft of £2,500 Gold Necklace from Glasgow Jewellers

Detectives in Glasgow have released CCTV footage in an appeal to identify a suspect who stole a gold necklace worth £2,500 from a prominent city centre jewellers. The brazen theft occurred during business hours, leaving staff shocked at the speed and audacity of the crime.

According to store management and police reports, the suspect entered the jewellery store pretending to be an interested buyer. After requesting to view several high-end pieces, the individual managed to distract the shop assistant. In a swift, calculated move captured clearly on security cameras, the thief slipped the valuable gold necklace into their pocket before casually exiting the premises.

Staff realized the necklace was missing shortly after the suspect left and immediately alerted security and the police. Officers arrived at the scene to secure the CCTV footage and interview witnesses. The footage shows a clear image of the suspect, which police are now using as part of their public appeal to track down the offender.

Police Scotland have urged anyone who recognizes the individual in the footage, or who has been offered a similar gold necklace for sale under suspicious circumstances, to come forward.
