Mounjaro thief stole 40 boxes of weight-loss drug from Harrogate pharmacy

A pharmacy in the North Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate has been targeted in a high-value theft, with a culprit stealing 40 boxes of the popular weight-loss drug Mounjaro.

The incident, reported on 29th August 2025, has highlighted the growing black market demand for weight-loss and diabetic medications. Mounjaro, which contains the active ingredient tirzepatide, has recently seen a significant surge in popularity globally, leading to supply shortages and rendering it a prime target for thieves looking to resell the product illegally.
