Police appeal after football sportswear stolen in Harrogate district burglary
North Yorkshire Police have issued a public appeal for information after a burglary in the Harrogate district, where a significant quantity of football sportswear was stolen.
The burglary occurred in early February 2024. Intruders managed to gain access to a local facility and made off with multiple items of sports apparel, primarily consisting of football jerseys, training kits, and related gear. The local community has been shocked by the incident, which impacts local sports suppliers and clubs.
Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious vehicles or individuals in the area around the time of the break-in to contact them. Furthermore, police are advising the public to be cautious of anyone attempting to sell brand-new football kits or sportswear at low prices, as these items may be stolen goods from this break-in.
Information can be shared with the police by calling the non-emergency 101 number or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers.
