Police Launch Investigation After Large Amount of Jewellery Stolen from H. Samuel in Hull City Centre

A major investigation is underway following a high-value raid at the H. Samuel jewellery store located on Prospect Street in the heart of Hull city centre. The commercial burglary, which occurred outside of normal trading hours, resulted in the theft of a "large amount of jewellery" from the display cases and stockroom.

Staff discovered the break-in upon arriving to open the store, finding significant damage to the storefront and interior security grilles. Police officers quickly cordoned off the area to allow forensic investigators to examine the scene, gather evidence, and retrieve any fingerprints or DNA left behind by the perpetrators.

Detectives are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the store and surrounding city centre businesses to identify suspects and track their escape route. Images from the scene show police activity and damage to the premises as officers began their enquiries on the morning of April 8, 2024.

Humberside Police have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, vehicles, or individuals near Prospect Street during the night or early hours of the morning to contact them. Additionally, police are warning the public and local pawn shops to be vigilant and report anyone attempting to sell high-value jewellery items under unusual or suspicious circumstances.
