Rioters Loot Hull Shops and Build Bonfire Outside Shoe Zone in City Centre Violence

Hull city centre was hit by severe violence and disorder on Saturday afternoon, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Rioters clashed with police officers, targetting local retail premises and engaging in widespread looting as the situation rapidly escalated.

Among the worst affected areas was Jameson Street, where a Shoe Zone store became a focal point for the unrest. Witnesses reported seeing individuals break into the shop, looting its stock before creating a bonfire in the middle of the street using boxes and shoes from the store. Plumes of thick black smoke were seen rising above the shopping district as the bonfire burned, while nearby businesses locked down for safety.

Humberside Police deployed riot officers and canine units in an effort to restore order and disperse the crowds. The local community has expressed shock and outrage at the destruction of local businesses, which has caused significant disruption to public transport and city centre operations.
