Humberside Police Appeal After Burglary at Hull Charity Giroscope Bike Project
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary at a well-known local charity in Hull. The incident took place at the Giroscope bike project, an initiative that provides training, support, and affordable transport to local residents, which was targeted by thieves who stole multiple bicycles and tools.
Officers investigating the break-in have released images of the project's workshop and the surrounding area in the hopes that members of the public might recognize individuals or vehicle movements near the premises around the time of the incident on May 16, 2025.
Giroscope is a registered charity based in West Hull, renowned for its work in regenerating empty properties and providing volunteer opportunities, housing, and bike maintenance training to those in need. The theft of tools and volunteer-built bikes represents a significant blow to the charity and the community members who rely on their services daily.
Humberside Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV footage, or dashcam footage from the vicinity to come forward. A spokesperson said: "Investigations are ongoing into the reported burglary at the Giroscope bike project in Hull. We are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or who may have been offered cheap bicycles for sale in the area to contact us to assist with our enquiries."
