Police Find £57,000 Cannabis Farm After Responding to Attempted Burglary in Leeds

An attempted break-in at a house in Leeds led to an unexpected discovery when responding police officers uncovered a large-scale cannabis growing operation worth tens of thousands of pounds.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police were dispatched to the residential property following reports of a suspected burglary attempt in progress. Upon arriving and securing the premises, officers conducted a search of the building to ensure no intruders remained inside. Instead, they discovered a sophisticated cannabis cultivation setup spanning multiple rooms.

The operation, which included professional lighting, ventilation, and watering systems, contained plants with an estimated street value of £57,000. The illegal growing equipment and plants were seized by officers, and a forensic team was brought in to gather evidence. An investigation is now underway to identify the individuals responsible for managing the cultivation site, and police are appealing for information from neighbors who may have noticed unusual activity or smells coming from the property.
