Man charged following string of commercial burglaries in Lisburn
A man has been charged in connection with a series of burglaries targeting commercial premises across Lisburn, police have confirmed.
The charges follow a prompt investigation by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) into several break-ins at businesses in the town center and surrounding areas. Over the course of the incidents, property was damaged and merchandise, cash, and equipment were reported stolen, causing significant disruption to the local business community.
The suspect was detained by officers following coordinated inquiries. He is facing multiple counts of burglary and associated charges of criminal damage. Police have emphasized their commitment to tackling retail and commercial crime, noting the financial and emotional burden such incidents place on local shop owners and employees.
A PSNI representative commented: "Business burglaries are not victimless crimes. They affect livelihoods, insurance premiums, and the overall vitality of our high streets. Thanks to the assistance of the public and business owners who provided CCTV footage, our officers were able to make a swift arrest and secure charges in this case."
The charged individual is scheduled to appear before Lisburn Magistrates' Court. As is standard procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) ahead of the court appearance.
