Red Run Flagship Store in Liverpool ONE Closed Following Audacious Overnight Burglary
The flagship store of popular Liverpool activewear brand Red Run, located on Manestys Lane in the Liverpool ONE shopping complex, has been forced to temporarily close its doors following a targeted overnight burglary. The incident, which took place during the busy winter shopping season, has sparked a police investigation and raised security concerns among local retailers.
Suspects Disguised as Food Delivery Workers
According to initial reports, the burglary occurred during the late hours of the night. The perpetrators utilized a sophisticated disguise to avoid suspicion, with two men dressed in high-visibility jackets and carrying insulated food delivery holdalls. Under this cover, the thieves gained entry to the retail premises and systematically cleared out high-value stock before fleeing the scene.
In a statement issued on Thursday, December 18, Red Run confirmed that the store would remain closed to allow police forensic teams to conduct a thorough investigation and for staff to assess the full extent of the stolen stock. The brand expressed its disappointment over the incident but thanked the public and the Liverpool ONE management team for their swift support during this challenging period.
Security Measures Under Review
The incident has highlighted a growing trend of thieves using common gig-economy uniforms, such as food delivery outfits, to blend in and carry out robberies in busy commercial districts. Merseyside Police have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on Manestys Lane or captured CCTV and dashcam footage in the area overnight to come forward to assist with the ongoing inquiry.
