Man Charged After Hundreds of Pounds of Alcohol Stolen from Liverpool City Centre Bars

A 62-year-old man has been arrested and charged by Merseyside Police following a string of commercial burglaries targeting multiple popular bars and distilleries in Liverpool's city centre.

The charges follow investigations into the theft of hundreds of pounds worth of premium alcohol from local hospitality venues. The affected businesses include the Liverpool Gin Distillery, Love Lane Brewery Bar, and The Irish House, all of which reported break-ins or thefts over the preceding days. The incidents caused considerable concern among local business owners, who have been working closely with police to improve security and identify offenders.

Following a rapid response and investigation, officers detained the suspect, who has since been formally charged with burglary. Police confirmed that the stolen goods included various high-value bottles of spirits and craft beer. The swift arrest has been welcomed by the local business community, which relies heavily on foot traffic and a safe city centre environment.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges. Merseyside Police have reiterated their commitment to protecting local businesses and urged any other venues that may have witnessed suspicious activity to get in touch with security footage or information.
