London Police Arrest Suspect Following Violent Home Invasion and Confinement of Local Woman

LONDON — A violent home invasion in London has resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Thanh Dat Mai, following a major police manhunt. The incident began in the early morning hours of November 4, 2025, at a residence near Oxford Street West and Fiddlers Green Road. A local resident and her young child were asleep inside the home when the intruder forced his entry.

Victim Bound and Threatened with a Knife

According to police reports, the woman woke to find the suspect inside her house. An argument broke out between the two, who were known to each other. The situation quickly escalated when the suspect bound the woman, subjected her to physical assault, and threatened her with a knife. The victim was held captive for several hours before she managed to break free, escape through an upstairs window, and seek help from neighbors to contact emergency services. Fortunately, the child present in the home during the ordeal was physically unharmed, but the woman required hospitalization for her injuries.

Arrest and Charges Filed

Following a search and the issuance of an arrest warrant, London police successfully apprehended Mai on November 24, 2025. He faces multiple serious criminal charges, including break and enter with intent, forcible confinement, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault, assault with a weapon, assault by suffocation, and failing to comply with a court release order. Mai remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.
