Sainsbury's Store in Milton Keynes Targeted in Dramatic Digger ATM Ram-Raid

A supermarket in Milton Keynes has become the target of a dramatic ram-raid, leaving the store front severely damaged after thieves used a heavy digger to steal an on-site cash machine. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, causing significant disruption to local shoppers and prompting a major police investigation.

According to Thames Valley Police, offenders arrived at the Sainsbury's store and used a tracking digger to systematically demolish part of the exterior wall housing the automated teller machine (ATM). The cash machine was subsequently ripped from its foundations and loaded onto another vehicle before the suspects fled the scene. Structural engineers were called to the location to assess the integrity of the building following the impact.

This latest heist comes as a devastating blow to the local community and supermarket staff. The Sainsbury's branch had only recently reopened in August 2025 after being repeatedly targeted and blighted by a series of break-ins and burglaries. The store's management had implemented enhanced security measures, but these were unfortunately not enough to deter the determined criminals who orchestrated the digger raid.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward immediately. Security sweeps and forensic investigations are currently ongoing at the site.
