Vulnerable Walker Resident Left Terrified After Recidivist Burglar Smashes into Newcastle Home

WALKER โ€” A vulnerable Newcastle resident has been left severely shaken after a burglar forced his way into his home, stealing vital personal items including a falls alarm strap.

The perpetrator, identified as Saad El Bacha, 42, of Ponteland, committed the offence while already serving a suspended sentence. El Bacha targeted the property in the Walker area of Newcastle, smashing his way inside. The 64-year-old victim, who suffers from a debilitating neuro-degenerative disease, was present during the intrusion and was left deeply frightened by the encounter.

During the break-in, El Bacha stole the victim's mobile phone as well as the strap for his falls alarmโ€”a critical piece of equipment used to summon help. The case has sparked outrage in the community, highlighting the vulnerability of elderly and disabled residents to opportunistic crime. El Bacha was quickly apprehended by Northumbria Police and now faces significant jail time as his suspended sentence is reviewed alongside the new charges.
