Armed Robber Targets Subway Store in Newcastle upon Tyne, Threatening Staff for Cash

An investigation is underway by Northumbria Police following an armed robbery at a Subway sandwich shop in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear. The incident occurred during operating hours, leaving staff members severely shaken after being threatened by a weapon-wielding offender.

The suspect entered the Subway premises and brandished a weapon, demanding that the workers hand over the contents of the cash register. Fearing for their safety, the staff complied with the demands, and the robber fled the scene with an undisclosed sum of cash. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported during the encounter, though paramedics were called to support the shocked employees.

Police immediately deployed officers and canine units to search the surrounding streets, but the suspect remains at large. Northumbria Police have released a description of the suspect, appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the store at the time, or who might have dashcam or CCTV footage from the local area, to come forward to aid their investigation.
