'Considerable' damage to Norwich listed building after break-in
A heritage property in Norwich has suffered severe structural and interior damage following a break-in, causing concern among local preservationists and historians.
The listed building, which holds significant historical value for the city, was targeted by intruders who forced their way inside. Once inside, the vandals defaced historic features and caused extensive physical damage to the property before fleeing the scene. The extent of the destruction has been described as "considerable," with restoration experts noting that returning the building to its original state will be a costly and time-consuming endeavor.
Local authorities are currently investigating the burglary and vandalism. Forensics officers have been on site gathering evidence, and police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious individuals near the premises around the time of the break-in. "Vandalism of a listed building is not just property damage; it is an attack on our local heritage," a community spokesperson commented.
