Audacious Thief Uses Wheelie Bin to Steal Goods in Nottingham Shop Break-In

Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an unusual and audacious burglary at a local retail store in Nottingham. The break-in, which occurred in May 2025, involved a thief utilizing a large wheelie bin to transport a significant volume of stolen merchandise.

According to investigators, the suspect broke into the premises by smashing a window to gain entry. Once inside, rather than carrying items by hand or using bags, the burglar systematically filled a wheelie bin with various retail goods. The thief then wheeled the container out of the shop and fled the scene.

Police have described the crime as highly planned and are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Shopkeepers are being urged to remain vigilant and ensure their wheelie bins are locked away or secured to prevent them from being used in similar smash-and-grab style burglaries.
