Nottingham Burglaries: Serial Thief Raul Marin Jailed, Clifton Man Steven Walker Charged
NOTTINGHAM, UK โ Nottingham courts have dealt with two significant commercial burglary cases, resulting in the jail sentence of a city centre spree thief and the charging of a Clifton resident accused of targeting a local pharmacy.
Serial Thief Raul Marin Sentenced to 12 Months
In February 2024, 23-year-old Raul Marin was jailed for 12 months at Nottingham Crown Court following a five-week crime spree that targeted multiple businesses in Nottingham city centre. Marin was apprehended after a police officer recognized him on CCTV footage from the targeted premises.
The court heard that Marin's spree began on Christmas Eve 2023, when he slipped into the staff room at the Starbucks on South Parade after using the customer toilets, stealing a wallet and bank cards. On New Year's Eve, he stole wine from the Co-op on Middleton Boulevard. His spree continued into January 2024, when he targeted a foot care clinic in Bulwell (stealing a ยฃ1,500 iPhone), a Bramcote takeaway (stealing a ยฃ1,000 iPhone), and a tattoo parlour on St James' Street (stealing an iPad).
Clifton Resident Steven Walker Charged with Pharmacy Burglary
In a separate case heard in early 2026, 45-year-old Steven Walker of Holbrook Court, Clifton, was charged following a break-in at a pharmacy on Bailey Street in Old Basford, Nottingham. The burglary, which took place on November 25, 2025, involved intruders smashing a window to gain entry before stealing controlled drugs, NHS prescriptions, and cash.
Walker appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on January 28, 2026. He was released on bail ahead of a scheduled hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on April 14, 2026, as police continue to investigate the incident.
