Three suspects charged after £60,000 cash and safe stolen from Hyson Green shop
NOTTINGHAM, UK — Three suspects have been charged following a significant commercial burglary in the Hyson Green area, during which a safe containing approximately £60,000 in cash was stolen.
The incident occurred in the early hours of June 6, 2025, at a retail premises situated on Radford Road. According to Nottinghamshire Police, intruders forced open the shop's security shutters at around 3:00 am. Once inside, they used a trolley to transport and remove the heavy safe, which contained bundles of cash totaling £60,000. In addition to the cash, the burglars also took a computer and the store's CCTV recording equipment in an apparent attempt to cover their tracks.
Suspects Apprehended and Charged
A thorough investigation led by Nottinghamshire Police officers resulted in identifying and charging three individuals in connection with the crime:
- Saman Hamadi (36) and Ardalan Mahmood (46) were both charged with burglary. They appeared before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on October 4, 2025, where they were remanded in custody. Both are scheduled to appear next at Nottingham Crown Court on October 31, 2025.
- Haiwa Mohammed (40) was arrested and charged in August 2025. In addition to the Radford Road break-in, he was charged in connection with two separate burglaries that took place at other commercial properties in Nottingham on May 20, 2025. Mohammed was remanded in custody ahead of a scheduled court appearance on October 15, 2025.
