Vietnamese restaurant owner 'devastated' after thief uses wheelie bin as cover in Nottingham break-in

The owner of a newly opened Vietnamese restaurant in Nottingham has spoken of her devastation after a thief used a large commercial waste bin as cover to smash his way into the premises.

The break-in, which occurred at the city centre venue, was captured on security footage. The clip shows the offender maneuvering a large wheelie bin in front of the restaurant's glass frontage to shield himself from the view of passers-by before shattering the door and entering the building.

The restaurant owner expressed heartbreak over the incident, explaining how much hard work and investment had gone into launching the new culinary venture. "To see it damaged and violated so soon after opening is absolutely devastating," she said.

Following the break-in, Nottinghamshire Police launched a swift investigation. Officers confirmed that arrests have since been made in connection with the incident, bringing some relief to the business owner and the local community.
