High-Value Daylight Burglary in Elburton: Naval and Football Medals Stolen
Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating a high-value residential burglary that took place in broad daylight in the affluent Elburton area of Plymouth. The break-in, which occurred on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, between the hours of 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, resulted in the theft of highly valuable and irreplaceable sentimental items, including military service medals.
The targeted residence, situated near the intersection of Sherford Road and Portway Close, was forcibly entered while the occupants were away. Once inside, the perpetrators conducted a search and made off with a significant haul of jewellery and historical family items. Among the stolen items are a gold Omega watch complete with a black strap in its original red box, a brand-new Mikimoto pearl necklace, an array of football medals, and a prestigious naval long service medal. Additionally, the thieves took gold cufflinks engraved with the initials 'RT', a Rolex bracelet strap, and a gemstone lapis lazuli necklace on a gold chain.
Detectives are appealing to the public for any information regarding suspicious activity in the Elburton area during the middle of the day on November 4. Property owners in the vicinity are requested to review doorbell camera feeds, CCTV, and vehicle dashcams.
