Preston Home Invasion Victim Targeted in 'Honey Trap' Ploy
A homeowner in Preston has been the victim of a violent home invasion after being lured into a sophisticated 'honey trap' plot by a group of conspirators.
The incident, which occurred in mid-March 2026, began when the victim was contacted online and arranged a meeting at his residential address in Preston, Lancashire. Unbeknownst to the victim, the arrangement was a setup designed to gain access to his property. Shortly after the individual arrived at the home, several accomplices forced their way inside, overriding the victim's security and launching a coordinated assault.
Once inside, the gang threatened the homeowner and ransacked the property, demanding access to cash, high-value electronics, and personal safes. The victim sustained minor injuries during the struggle before the intruders fled the scene with stolen goods. Neighbors reported hearing a disturbance and alerted the Lancashire Constabulary, who arrived shortly after the suspects had departed.
Detectives from the Preston CID are treating the home invasion as a targeted attack and have warned the public to exercise extreme caution when arranging face-to-face meetings with individuals met through online platforms. Police are currently reviewing local CCTV and door-camera footage to identify the suspects and the vehicles used in the getaway. Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
