St Albans Burglary Sparks Police Investigation

ST ALBANS, Hertfordshire — Hertfordshire Constabulary has launched a full public appeal and investigation after a daytime burglary in the Sandridge area of St Albans left a local household shaken.

The break-in occurred at a residential property located on Helier Road on Monday, March 2, 2026. According to police reports, the suspects targeted the address during a three-hour window between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. After gaining entry to the premises, the perpetrators conducted a search and made off with a car key belonging to the occupants.

Local neighborhood officers and detectives are currently reviewing nearby security footage and conducting door-to-door enquiries. Police are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Helier Road or Sandridge on the morning of March 2 and witnessed any suspicious individuals or vehicles to contact them immediately. Residents with active dashcams, Ring doorbells, or private CCTV installations are also being asked to check their footage for any unusual activity during the time of the break-in.
