Sandyford Sandwich Shop Target of Destructive Early-Hours Burglary by Two Women
SANDYFORD, Stoke-on-Trent โ A local business owner has been left to pick up the pieces after burglars broke into a popular Stoke-on-Trent sandwich shop, causing hundreds of pounds in property damage to steal a small collection of snacks and drinks.
The break-in occurred during the early hours of late November 2024 at the Goodies Sandwich Bar, located in Sandyford. Security footage from the premises captured two women smashing their way through the shop's entrance to gain access to the interior.
Hundreds in Damages for a Handful of Sweets
Once inside, the culprits targeted minor items rather than high-value equipment. The owner revealed that the stolen items consisted primarily of cakes, chocolate bars, and soft drinks. However, the financial cost and operational disruption of repairing the smashed entrance far outweighed the value of the stolen goods.
"It's the headache and the cost of the damage that hurts a small business the most," the owner commented, expressing frustration over the senseless destruction of their property for such a minor haul.
Ongoing Police Investigation
Staffordshire Police have launched an investigation into the burglary. Officers have already reviewed CCTV footage from Goodies Sandwich Bar and surrounding businesses in Sandyford to identify the two women responsible. Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area during the early hours of the morning on November 26, 2024, or who has relevant information, to contact them via 101 or online chat, quoting the Sandyford burglary reference.
