Valuable jewellery taken during burglary at York home

Detectives in York are appealing for information following a house burglary in which a large quantity of highly valuable jewellery was stolen.

High-Value Residential Theft

The burglary, reported on Monday, February 2, 2026, occurred at a home in York. The suspects gained entry to the property by forcing a rear window while the occupants were away. Once inside, they thoroughly searched the master bedroom, locating and stealing a collection of jewellery that includes gold necklaces, rings, and several heirlooms of immense sentimental value to the victims.

Police Appeal

North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation and are conducting house-to-house enquiries. They are asking anyone who may have noticed suspicious individuals or vehicles in the vicinity around the time of the break-in to contact them. Additionally, local pawn shops and online sellers are being monitored for the stolen items.
