Commercial Theft Prevention Tips

To secure HGVs and valuable commercial cargo, businesses are advised to follow these security practices:

  • Ensure trailers and vehicles are parked in secure, well-lit, and monitored areas.
  • Utilise heavy-duty kingpin locks and other physical immobilisers on trailers.
  • Implement GPS tracking systems for both the vehicle cab and the trailer itself.
  • Enhance depot security with high-quality fencing, automated gates, and comprehensive CCTV coverage.
  • Conduct regular audits of valuable cargo and restrict access to shipment schedules.
