Brothers Arrested Following Convenience Store Armed Robbery in Albany

ALBANY, NY — Two brothers are behind bars after being arrested in connection with a brazen convenience store armed robbery. The swift apprehension of the suspects follows a coordinated effort by local detectives and patrol officers.

The incident occurred in the late afternoon when the suspects entered the local convenience store. According to police, at least one of the brothers was armed with a handgun, which he used to threaten the cashier while demanding money from the cash register. After securing an undisclosed amount of cash, the duo fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.

A description of the suspects and their vehicle was immediately broadcast to all local units. Shortly after the broadcast, alert patrol officers spotted a vehicle matching the description and initiated a traffic stop. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Investigators recovered the stolen money and a firearm matching the one used in the crime inside the vehicle.

The suspects, identified by police as two local brothers, have been charged with armed robbery, conspiracy, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. They are currently being held at the custody facility pending their arraignment.
