Crash-and-Grab Burglary: Suspects Use Stolen Vehicle to Ram Albuquerque Cannabis Dispensary

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — A local cannabis dispensary in Albuquerque fell victim to a smash-and-grab style burglary after suspects used a stolen vehicle to break through the storefront. The incident caused significant damage to the exterior of the building and has highlighted security vulnerabilities for local cannabis dispensaries.

The burglary occurred in the early hours of the morning. According to security footage, the suspects lined up the vehicle with the store's glass storefront and reversed into it at high speed, shattering the glass and destroying the security gate. Once inside the building, the suspects spent only a few minutes gathering various cannabis products from display cases before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing in a second getaway car.

Albuquerque police officers arrived on the scene to find the stolen vehicle still embedded in the storefront. Police confirmed that the car used in the break-in had been reported stolen prior to the burglary.
