Albuquerque Teen Arrested in Connection with String of Liquor Store Burglaries

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of break-ins targeting liquor stores across Albuquerque. The arrest follows an intensive investigation by the Albuquerque Police Department into a pattern of commercial burglaries that occurred over several weeks.

According to police reports, the suspect allegedly targeted multiple liquor retail outlets during late-night and early-morning hours. In each incident, the suspect used forced entry methods—such as breaking front glass doors or windows—to gain access to the properties. Once inside, the suspect quickly stole high-value inventory and cash from the registers before fleeing before officers could arrive.

Detectives were able to identify the teen suspect through surveillance footage and physical evidence recovered at the scenes of the break-ins. The youth now faces multiple counts of commercial burglary, criminal damage to property, and larceny. APD officials noted that collaboration with local store owners and sharing security footage was instrumental in resolving the case and preventing further losses for local businesses.
