Albuquerque Police Detail Fatal Shooting of Armed Robbery Suspect

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) has released new details regarding an officer-involved shooting that left an armed robbery suspect dead. The confrontation occurred following a high-stakes pursuit of a suspect believed to have been involved in a series of local robberies.

According to police reports, officers responded to calls describing an armed suspect actively committing a robbery. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement attempted to de-escalate the situation and apprehend the suspect. However, the suspect, who was armed, refused to comply with officers' commands and brandished a weapon, leading to a direct threat to public safety and the officers on the scene.
