APPLE VALLEY, CA — A robbery at a local Circle K convenience store escalated into a physical confrontation when the suspect assaulted a bystander outside the business before fleeing from responding law enforcement officers.
Robbery at Bear Valley Road Circle K
The incident unfolded at the Circle K convenience store located on the 20900 block of Bear Valley Road. Deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a robbery in progress. According to investigators, the suspect entered the store, threatened employees, and took cash and merchandise from behind the counter.
Assault of Bystander and Arrest
As the suspect fled the building, a bystander outside the store attempted to observe or intercept him. The suspect confronted the bystander and physically assaulted them, causing minor injuries. Witnesses immediately called 911 to update deputies on the suspect’s flight path.
Arriving deputies spotted the suspect running through a nearby residential neighborhood. Following a brief pursuit, deputies arrested the 19-year-old Adelanto resident without further incident. The bystander was treated at the scene by emergency medical services for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities reminded citizens to exercise caution in active robbery situations and to prioritize their safety by contacting law enforcement rather than confronting suspects directly.
