Three Arrested After Group of Five Brandish Machetes in Arlington Assault and Robbery

ARLINGTON, Virginia — Police have apprehended three individuals following a violent assault and armed robbery involving a group of five suspects brandishing machetes in Arlington.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when the suspects confronted the victims, producing large machetes to intimidate and threaten them. According to the Arlington County Police Department, the suspects assaulted the victims before stealing their personal belongings and fleeing the scene on foot.

Responding officers quickly flooded the area, establishing a perimeter. Following a brief search, three of the five suspects were located and taken into custody without further incident. The victims sustained minor injuries during the physical altercation but did not require immediate hospitalization.

Investigators are currently working to identify and apprehend the remaining two suspects who fled the scene.
