Suspect Arrested in Arlington After $20,000 Pokรฉmon Card Theft

ARLINGTON, Texas โ€” A high-value retail theft involving rare collectible trading cards has led to the arrest of a suspect in Arlington, according to police reports.

The investigation began after a specialty card shop owner in North Texas reported a burglary in which approximately $20,000 worth of rare Pokรฉmon cards and other collectible items were stolen. The thief targeting the establishment seemed to know exactly which high-value items to take, leaving behind less valuable merchandise.

Following a coordinated investigation, Arlington police detectives located the suspect in Arlington, where they recovered a significant portion of the stolen cards. The suspect was taken into custody and faces charges of grand larceny and commercial burglary.

The shop owner expressed relief at the arrest and the recovery of the rare inventory, noting the tight-knit nature of the local collectible community. The suspect is being held in custody as prosecutors prepare the case for trial.
