Atlanta Police Apprehend Suspect Following Centennial Olympic Park Drive Residential Burglary
An early morning residential burglary in downtown Atlanta ended with a swift arrest, marking the first of several successful apprehensions by the Atlanta Police Department during a concentrated five-day operation. The incident took place on December 18, 2024, at approximately 4:12 AM at a residential building located at 325 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW.
According to statements released by the Atlanta Police Department, officers received an emergency call regarding an ongoing break-in at the downtown location. Units arrived at the scene within minutes and quickly secured the perimeter. Upon entering the premises, officers encountered the suspect, who attempted to evade arrest but was quickly subdued and taken into custody without further incident.
This arrest was part of a larger, highly coordinated effort by the APD to combat property crimes in the city, which resulted in the apprehension of four suspected burglars over a five-day span. The department credited the rapid response of the patrol officers and the cooperation of residential building security for the successful resolution of the incident.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released pending formal charges, faces multiple counts, including first-degree burglary. Atlanta Police continue to encourage residents to secure their homes and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
