Multiple Charged Following String of Armed Robberies at Augusta Family Dollar Stores

AUGUSTA, Ga. — A complex investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest and charging of three suspects connected to multiple armed robberies at Family Dollar stores across the Augusta area. The crime spree, which began in August 2025, involved suspects entering the retail locations armed, demanding cash, and in one instance, discharging a firearm inside the store.

The first reported incident occurred on August 13, 2025, when deputies responded to robberies targeting local Family Dollar branches. Authorities initially sought two suspects who fled the scene. The investigation intensified after a subsequent robbery in late December 2025, during which shots were fired inside a Family Dollar store on Windsor Spring Road. Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the gunfire, but the bold nature of the crime raised public alarm.

Following the December robbery, deputies spotted the suspects' vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, leading to a brief police chase through Richmond County. The pursuit ended with the containment and arrest of three suspects. The suspects face multiple counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Richmond County investigators finalized the charges and arrest warrants, bringing a conclusion to the series of commercial holdups by March 2026.
