Aurora Man Arrested Following ATM Commercial Break-In

AURORA, Colorado — An Aurora resident has been taken into police custody following an attempted commercial break-in targeting an automated teller machine (ATM). The arrest occurred in the late evening hours after security systems alerted local authorities to suspicious activity at the site.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers were dispatched to a commercial property after receiving notification of an active alarm. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed a suspect attempting to force open an ATM. The suspect, identified as a local Aurora man, was quickly apprehended by responding officers before he could extract any cash from the machine.

Damage was reported to the exterior casing of the ATM, and specialized tools commonly used in commercial burglaries were recovered from the scene.
