APD searches for suspect who robbed north Austin store at knife-point

Austin police detectives are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a retail convenience store at knife-point in North Austin late last week.

According to the Austin Police Department, the incident took place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m. at a retail store along North Lamar Boulevard. Investigators stated that the suspect entered the business, approached the counter, and brandished a large knife before demanding cash from the register.

The store clerk complied with the demands, handing over an undisclosed amount of money, after which the suspect fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the encounter.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, a baseball cap, and a mask covering his face. APD is asking anyone with information or surveillance footage from the surrounding area to contact the Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092, or submit a tip anonymously via Capital Area Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477.
