Austin Police Department Searches for Suspect After South Austin Mobile Store Robbery

AUSTIN, Texas — Detectives with the Austin Police Department (APD) are investigating a robbery at a mobile phone and electronics retail store in South Austin, and are requesting help from the community to locate the suspect.

The robbery took place at a commercial establishment situated in the southern sector of the city. According to investigators, the suspect entered the mobile retail shop, confronted employees, and proceeded to execute the robbery before fleeing the scene. It has not been reported whether the suspect utilized a weapon during the incident, and fortunately, no injuries to store personnel have been reported at this time.

Officers responded quickly to the location to secure the perimeter and search the immediate area, but the suspect had already departed. Crime scene technicians have processed the retail space for physical and digital evidence, including security camera recordings that may have captured the suspect's description and path of escape.

The APD Robbery Unit is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, noticed suspicious behavior near the store around the time of the event, or has information about the suspect to contact the APD tip line. Tips can also be submitted anonymously, with potential cash rewards for information leading to an arrest.
