Northwest Austin Police Investigate Twin Break-ins at Local Dessert Spots

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating a series of commercial break-ins that occurred in Northwest Austin, targeting two popular, neighboring family-friendly establishments. Both Amy's Ice Creams and Phil's Icehouse, which share a close-knit business location, were burglarized by intruders during the early hours of August 18, 2025.

According to initial police reports, the suspects forced entry into the buildings, causing property damage and stealing cash and other items from the registers and offices. Employees arriving for their morning shifts discovered the break-ins and immediately alerted law enforcement. Detectives are currently analyzing surveillance footage from both businesses to identify the perpetrators and determine if the break-ins were carried out by the same group.

Both establishments are well-known staples in the Austin community, especially popular with families. The local community has expressed support for the affected businesses as they clean up and repair the damage.
