Juveniles Ransack 7-Eleven Near Bakersfield High School, Injuring Employee

BAKERSFIELD, CA — A convenience store near Bakersfield High School was the scene of a violent confrontation and ransacking by a group of juveniles, leaving a store employee injured.

The incident occurred on August 22 at the 7-Eleven store located in close proximity to the high school campus. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a large group of teenagers entered the establishment and quickly began grabbing items off shelves, causing widespread disruption and damage to the store's interior. When an employee attempted to intervene and stop the group, they were assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

Emergency medical services responded to treat the injured worker at the scene. The incident has raised serious safety concerns among local residents and parents, given the proximity to the high school. Bakersfield Police are actively working with school administrators and reviewing surveillance video from the store to identify the juveniles involved in the incident.

The BPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the commotion or has mobile phone footage of the incident to contact local authorities. School resource officers are also assisting in the investigation to determine if the suspects are students at the nearby high school.
