Northwest Bakersfield Goodwill Store Targeted in Burglary; Police Search for Two Suspects

BAKERSFIELD, California — Investigators with the Bakersfield Police Department are actively searching for two suspects involved in a commercial burglary at a Goodwill store located in Northwest Bakersfield. The break-in took place on March 1, 2024.

Officers responded to the retail establishment following an alarm activation. Upon arrival, they discovered signs of forced entry. Surveillance footage from the business confirmed that two suspects entered the property, ransacked office or retail sections, and fled with stolen merchandise and potentially cash before law enforcement arrived.

Goodwill Industries is a prominent non-profit organization that funds job training, placement services, and other community-based programs through the sale of donated goods. The burglary not only impacts the store's operations but also diverts resources away from community programs.

Detectives are reviewing high-definition security camera footage from both the store and surrounding businesses in the Northwest Bakersfield retail plaza to identify the suspects. BPD is calling on the public to help identify the individuals seen in the footage and encourages anyone with tips to contact local authorities.
